Solvay Electronic Wet Chemicals Business Unit is celebrating the fact that one of its key members, Dr Jean-Marie Collard, has been recognised by the SEMI Organisation for his personal contribution to the Semiconductor industry with a special Leadership Award for “Outstanding Leadership in guiding the SEMI Standards Program”.
SEMI is the global industry association serving the manufacturing supply chains for the microelectronic, display and photovoltaic industries. An important part of SEMI’s work is the SEMI International Standards Program which brings together industry experts to work towards developing globally accepted technical standards, which in turn make a huge contribution to lowering overall costs and speeding up development cycles in the semiconductor industry.
The award was presented to Dr. Collard at the Executive Summit on October 6, 2009 on the occasion of the SEMICON Europe Conference and Exhibition in Dresden by Dr. Werner Bergholz, Co-Chairman of the SEMI Europe Regional Standards Organisation who commented that in his role as Co-Chairman of the Gases and Liquid Chemicals Committee Jean-Marie had turned it into one of the most active and productive committees in Europe. In continuation of his support for the work of SEMI, Dr. Collard has accepted the proposal by his peers to become the new Co-Chairman of the SEMI Europe Regional Standards Organisation.
